详细介绍:
Run The Jewels has enjoyed a flawless career punctuated with great hits. In 2020, the duo released RTJ 4, the fourth addition to a formidable discography, reinterpreted here with a South American twist. RTJ CU4TRO sees Killer Mike and El-P highlight Brazilian, Argentine, Mexican and Hispanic-American artists. The radicality of these two protagonists perfectly matches that of the South American continent. The tracks on RTJ 4 have their instrumentals brightened from a different perspective, being reworked and adorned with warmer colours. There are several great achievements to be found here; for example, ‘fuera de vista’ with the Brazilian rapper Baco Exu Do Blues, and the delicious percussion on ‘caminando en la nieve’, a playground for Akapellah, Apache and Pawmps. Killer Mike is as political as ever, denouncing the police and racists in general. There’s something provocative about this, especially when you consider that JU$T appears alongside Zack de la Rocha, the singer from Rage Against The Machine, and Pharrell Williams. Dark but optimistic, RTJ CU4TRO is a superb reinterpretation of an already great album. © Brice Miclet/Qobuz
