This is a power trio with a flaming heart! Alongside guitarist Kevin Eubanks and drummer Obed Calvaire, Dave Holland plays the arsonist. Whether acoustic or electric, his bass lines seem possessed by a spirit, perhaps that of Hendrix. On some tracks, this frenetic jazz is spurred on by a blues sound. Born on stage, Another Land was set down in the studio in September 2020. The three musicians are as strong as ever, whatever the content of their performance. Whether they%27re playing a super-rhythmic number (Eubanks dazzles on the opening track Grave Walker), a complex ensemble (Mashup) or dreamy ballad (Passing Time), these artists fine-tune their music in minute detail.
