详细介绍:
There’s no shortage of pop albums that explore the theme of self-acceptance. The Gods That We Can Touch sees singer Aurora boldly bring her own ideas to this overcrowded table, doing so through the prism of Greek mythology. “Long ago, when the concept of gods and goddesses began, they were more human, almost palpable. Most importantly, they had flaws”, says the Norwegian singer who is often compared to Björk and Kate Bush. Aurora recorded the album with her usual producer, Magnus Skylstad, and it features guitarist Fredrik Svabø, pianist Askjell Solstrand, and bandonionist Per Arne Glorvigen. She also sings a duet with French singer Pomme on the track Everything Matters. Aurora’s celestial voice paired with the melancholic melodies perfectly encapsulate the album’s theme. The singer’s somewhat Baroque-style wistfulness (Artemis, This Could Be A Dream, Exhale Inhale as well as Blood In The Wine, which seems to be at least partially inspired by Morricone’s work) often gives way to a dance, even a club vibe (The Innocent, Giving In To The Love, A Temporary High and Cure For Me, with the latter nodding to the famous accompaniment of Aquarela do Brazil). Aurora’s “human gods” are sensitive, mysterious and jovial, and her third album is a shrine dedicated to their unique and secretive nature. © Nicolas Magenham/Qobuz
